Replacement of hay and straw storage building
Objective:
The client wanted to replace their current straw and hay storage building via full planning to increase storage capacity
Proposal:
The client instructed Foxes Rural to prepare an application for a modern agricultural building to accommodate the commercial activities of selling straw and hay bales for livestock feed and bedding. We ensured the design of the building included four roller shutter doors for organisational purposes and the size of the building reflected the scale of the expanding business. The success of the application meant our client will no longer need to store their straw and hay offsite, reducing transportation costs.
Local Planning Authority:
Uttlesford District Council
What the consultant Says
This application was for the commercial storage of hay and starw to be sold through an agricultural supplies business already operating from the site.
The proposed location was close to residential properties, so negotiation and changes of design and siting were required.
Ultimately is was through engagement and dialogue with the planning officer that resulted in the approval for the scheme.
