Grain Store via Permitted Development

Objective:

To create a full planning application for an agricultural building, to be used and shared collaboratively between farmers.

Proposal:

The client instructed us to prepare a full planning application due to the size of the proposed grain store being just under 1500m2. The success of this application allowed rural diversification and modernisation of storage facilities for farmers. Through a community approach, farmers will share the space to store grain, seed and fertilisers etc as well as reducing individual renting costs.

Local Planning Authority:

Babergh District Council

What the consultant Says

This application resulted in extensive surface water drainage issues and infiltration based on the site being ring fenced. It took around 9 months through negotiation with the surface water consultants and the flood authority to resolve outstanding matters.
