New farmyard using permitted development

The client's objective was to achieve a prior notification for a farmyard under 0.5 hectares for the storage of straw.

Client Brief:

The client instructed Foxes Rural to advise on the most suitable route to achieving this.  The client required advice on the type of hardstanding material in respect of the construction and it was determined that as the site fell at a scale of less than 0.5 hectare an application was not required to the Council.  However, the client instructed us to prepare a prior notification using permitted development.

As the area fell less than 0.5 hectares in size, there was no requirement under the GPDO to make an application.  However, the client instructed us to prepare the permitted development application for certainty on the development

What the consultant Says

The application site was beyond the existing farmstead layout and the location of the development required careful consideration.
