Building for livestock, feed and bedding storage
Objective:
To erect a general-purpose agricultural building which will include the accommodation of livestock and storage of associated feed and bedding.
Proposal:
The client instructed us to prepare an application via full planning for an agricultural building to house the farm’s cattle herd and create dry undercover storage of straw / hay and feed and other associated machinery. It is an essential requirement for cattle to give birth in sheltered conditions due to young cattle being extremely vulnerable to illness particularly pneumonia. Therefore, the success of this application provided protection from the weather, especially during the cooler and wetter early spring months as well as ensuring cattle are within sight and sound of our client’s residence, enabling them to intervene during birthing when necessary.
Local Planning Authority:
Braintree District Council
What the consultant Says
The client had an essential need for an agricultural building for their smallholding to house their cattle which were currently housed outside prior to achieving the approval.
