Agricultural to Commercial via Permitted Development
Objective:
To seek permission to change the use of existing agricultural poultry houses to a commercial B8 storage use.
Proposal:
Our client recently acquired poultry houses in the Chelmsford area with the objective of repurposing them to meet modern business needs. The site, previously used for agricultural operations, presented an opportunity for transformation into a functional storage facility under the B8 use class.

Through providing a thorough statement to overcome concerns with traffic and vehicle movement the project was approved, with the planning authority acknowledging the benefits to the local economy. The conversion of the poultry houses to a B8 storage facility has since provided much-needed commercial space, contributing to business growth and job creation in the area.
